FANTASTIC!
Our 68th Annual BBQ was a real winner.
We built it and they came! The day was warm and sunny, just perfect. Our local talented musicians entertained the crowd throughout the day. Beer garden volunteers managed to keep the beer and cider cold...no easy task... we sold out. The lambs were cooked to perfection. Our games attracted participants of all ages and genders. It is always a surprise to see the number of kids packing coconuts. People lined up for cowboy coffee and the coffee booth crew served hundreds in record time. The floating bakery's were out bright and early with fresh cinnmon buns. Pet sitters looked after all breeds and sizes of dogs so thier owners could enjoy the BBQ. Shuttlers shuttled by land and sea. Dignitaries were dignified and delivered entertaining speeches. Welcomers welcomed and the parking crew parked hundreds of vehicles.
Sales were up in every facet of the event thanks to our wonderful volunteers in the various tents.
T-shirts sales were awesome! Ice cream sales were also up thanks to the re-cycling crew for hosting. Hot dogs and veggie burgers were served with a smile that added up to a fine profit. And of course the vendors prticipating on their own account had a good year and donated thier 10% to the BBQ.
The gross revenue for the year was $54,000+ and our net profit after expenses $31,000. A detailed breakdown of the meal sales, beer garden, games etc. can be found at www.saturnacan.net and on the the lamb bbq facebook page.
