Gulf Islands National Park Reserve

Light Stations Remediation Project Spring – Summer 2019

Parks Canada will be remediating multiple structures on Mayne, Saturna, Prevost and Russell islands in Gulf Islands National Park Reserve between spring and summer of 2019. The removal and replacement of lead-based paint from these structures is expected to begin as early as March 1, 2019.

All sites will remain open to the public as the work progresses. Work on-site will typically occur from Monday to Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Work at Georgina Point on Mayne Island and East Point on Saturna Island will begin after 8:00 a.m.to minimize noise disturbances to residents and visitors.

Through the remediation of these structures, Parks Canada is protecting the health of our special places and of the people who visit them.

We appreciate your patience as this work progresses.
